Semarang, April 18, 2026 — The Professional Engineer Program (PSPPI), Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Diponegoro (Undip), successfully held a webinar entitled “FAIP (SKIP): Competency and Professional Certification” on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. WIB. The webinar was conducted online via Microsoft Teams and attended by PSPPI students.
The webinar featured three experienced speakers, Dr. Ir. Jaka Windarta, M.T., IPU., ASEAN Eng.; Ir. Sumardi, S.T., M.T., IPM., ASEAN Eng.; and Prof. Dr. Ir. Suharyanto, M.Sc., IPU., ASEAN Eng. The three speakers delivered complementary sessions covering the importance of competency certification and the completion of the FAIP (Formulir Aplikasi Insinyur Profesional) as part of the professional development process for engineers.
The first session was delivered by Dr. Ir. Jaka Windarta, M.T., IPU., ASEAN Eng., who discussed competency and certification. He emphasized that certification is an important step for engineers to gain professional recognition and strengthen their competitiveness in the workplace.
“Standardized competencies provide significant added value for engineers, both at the national and international levels,” he said.
The second session was presented by Ir. Sumardi, S.T., M.T., IPM., ASEAN Eng., who explained the FAIP competency standards. He discussed the competency requirements that prospective professional engineers need to fulfill, including knowledge, skills, and professional attitudes. Participants were also introduced to the assessment framework used in the professional certification process.
The final session was delivered by Prof. Dr. Ir. Suharyanto, M.Sc., IPU., ASEAN Eng., focusing on practical guidance for completing the FAIP. He provided tips on how to complete the form accurately and effectively, while also sharing experiences and common mistakes that applicants should avoid.
The webinar continued interactively through question-and-answer sessions following each presentation. Participants actively raised questions concerning the certification process and the practical application of FAIP.
Through this webinar, PSPPI FT Undip provided participants with a better understanding of competency certification and preparation for the professional engineer certification process. The activity also forms part of PSPPI FT Undip’s efforts to prepare graduates with the competencies and professional readiness required in the engineering field.
