The Professional Engineer Program (PSPPI), Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Diponegoro (Undip), held a webinar as part of its innovative approach to professional engineering education. The webinar carried the theme “Enhancing Professionalism in Engineering” and was attended by students, lecturers, and industry practitioners from various regions.
The activity was conducted to support a more flexible and adaptive learning process while connecting academic knowledge with professional engineering practice. Through the online format, participants had the opportunity to interact directly with experienced practitioners and discuss current issues in the engineering field.
The webinar featured Ir. Ferry Hermawan, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., CSP., IPU., ASEAN Eng. and Dr. Ir. Hadi Yudariansyah, S.T., M.T., IPU., ASEAN Eng., ACPE. The speakers discussed various aspects of professional engineering, including professional engineer competency standards, the implementation of engineering codes of ethics, and real-world cases encountered in industry.
The session also included an interactive discussion, providing participants with an opportunity to explore current challenges and issues in engineering practice. The discussion helped connect the material presented with situations that engineers may encounter in their professional work.
The webinar received positive responses from participants, particularly for its practical and contextual approach. The online learning format also enabled broader participation and interaction across different regions.
Through this activity, PSPPI FT Undip continues to develop its learning methods while preparing graduates who are not only technically competent but also demonstrate strong integrity and professionalism as engineers.
The study program is committed to organizing similar activities involving practitioners and other stakeholders to support the continuous development of students’ professional competencies.
